The Auckland Travel Show powered by Allianz

On 22–23 March 2025 at the Auckland Showgrounds, Lemongrass Productions launched the first-ever Auckland Travel Show powered by Allianz, reshaping the way Kiwis connect with global travel partners. By focusing on experiences rather than discount-driven pitches, we set out to redefine the traditional travel expo to deliver real value for our partners and the sector 

The heart of the show lay in its activations: live cultural performances that transported audiences across continents, global cuisine pop-ups that delighted the palate, and standout keynote speakers whose stories underscored “people make the place.” 

Strategic sponsorship integration led by title sponsor Allianz, alongside House of Travel, Globus Family of Brands, Korea Tourism Organization, and the Kingdom of Tonga lent immediate credibility and amplified our marketing reach. Their support reinforced the show’s premium positioning and attracted a high-caliber audience ready to engage.

11.6 million impressions generated among Auckland-based consumers

80+ travel exhibitors, from tourism boards and cruise companies to rail journeys, tour operators, consultants,

and travel agents. 

Visitors

  • Largest visitor age bracket was 55–64 (32%), followed by 45–54 (22%) and 35–44 (21%).                           

  • Retirees make up ~12% of respondents (by profession).                         

  • Three out of four attendees recalled Allianz as the title sponsor, demonstrating strong brand presence and awareness across the event.

Exhibitors reported a strong pipeline of qualified leads and follow-up bookings, while guests praised the show’s seamless flow and inspiring atmosphere. Perhaps most importantly, we’ve established a scalable blueprint—one that sets the stage for even greater impact and expanded brand partnerships in 2026 and beyond.

Travel Story Competition 

In partnership with House of Travel and the NZ Herald the competition received hundreds of inspiring entries from Kiwis, generating an incredible library of user-generated content. 

Two Stages,

Twice the Inspiration 

From river cruises and luxury rail on the Inspiration Stage to thrilling adventures and hidden gems on House of Travel’s “What’s HOT Stage,” all sessions delivered practical tips and insights for every traveller. 

Guest Speakers 

The amazing line-up included travel photographer and Peace in 10,000 Hands creator Stu Robertson, Olympian & Gold Medallist, Finn Butcher (Allianz Guest), and Justine Shera from My Balance Project and Group Tour Host for Best in Travel. 

Gourmet Pop-up Restaurants 

Showcasing cuisines from Fiji, Mexico, France, and Korea, the event’s pop-up restaurants offered visitors an immersive, bite-sized journey through authentic global flavours. 

Cultural Stage 

 

Featuring Tonga’s Fia Dance Academy, NZKDA’s high-energy K-pop, Ahuuranui Ori Tahiti, and multiple acts from the Chinese Cultural Centre of Auckland, the Cultural Stage brought music, dance, and tradition to life. 

Activity Zone 

With its climbing wall, giant games, and more, the Activity Zone delivered family-friendly fun that entertained younger attendees and made the show a day out for all ages. 

Interactive Exhibits

From immersive river cruising with Avalon Waterways,

to F1 simulators, cultural activations and even margarita tastings, the Auckland Travel Show delivered an experience like no other.
